Document translation

Translate a PDF you can actually review

Check the source text, review the translation, and choose an export without expecting a pixel-perfect replica.

Inspect the source first

Try selecting a sentence in your PDF reader. If you cannot select text, the pages may be scanned images and need optical character recognition. A sideways scan, faint print, or complex table can make extraction unreliable.

Choose a few representative passages, including a table or two-column page if present. Confirm that the extracted text reads in the right order before assessing the translation.

Use the document workflow

ClipShrink’s document translator sends extracted text to a cloud translation provider. The page displays the current free limits and attempt allowance; check them before starting a larger document.

  1. Upload the document and choose the target language.
  2. Complete the required verification yourself if prompted.
  3. Wait for the task to finish and compare original and translated blocks.
  4. Correct wording locally where needed and save TXT to keep those edits.
  5. Choose a PDF export only after checking its layout expectations.

Review meaning before formatting

Compare the title, dates, measurements, names, and conclusions with the source. Then check whether headings, list items, and table entries have stayed in a sensible order.

Do not use an automated translation alone for a document whose mistakes could have serious consequences. Ask a qualified reviewer when the purpose requires precise or certified wording.

Keep in mind

The editable page and the generated PDF are not necessarily the same export. The interface identifies TXT as the way to retain your local text edits.

Download while the task is available

Task files expire and download links are short-lived. If a link reports an expired request, return to the same task page and refresh the download links, then try again. A refreshed link cannot recover a file that has already been removed.

Open the downloaded PDF and inspect its beginning and end. ClipShrink’s PDF output is reflowed text; columns, page breaks, and complex layouts may differ from the source.
